DUI Attorneys in New York

Offering Effective & Personalized Representation

A DUI offense has the potential to turn your life upside down. If convicted, it can stay on your record for 10 years. You will also have to deal with the nightmarish combination of steep fines, lost driving privileges, and often jail time or community service. If you were recently arrested for driving under the influence, it is important that you act quickly to protect your best interests!

If you are looking for an aggressive New York DUI attorney, you have come to the right place! Wagner Law Associates, P.C.'s founder, Mr. Wagner, is an experienced trial attorney and is prepared to go to battle for you. To find out more, contact our office today at (646) 690-9075.

We handle several DUI related cases including:

  • DUID/Drug Intoxication: Drug-related DUI charges will be based on evidence collected from urine and/or blood tests. Even if there is compelling evidence against you, our New York DUI attorneys can examine whether your tests were properly administered, if any evidence was contaminated, or if the legal chain of custody wasn’t followed correctly.
  • DWI: For a first time DWI, you are looking at facing fines ranging from $500 to $1,000, and up to 1 year in jail. Your license is also likely to be revoked for at least six months. A first time offender may be able to plea bargain to a reduced charge of DWAI (a traffic infraction, not a crime). Subsequent DWI charges or certain factors (such as an especially high BAC level) can result in increased penalties. In New York, three or more alcohol convictions within 10 years can result in a permanent driver’s license revocation.
  • Juvenile/Underage DUI: New York has a “zero tolerance” alcohol policy for drivers under 21 years old. Underage drivers can face penalties such as expulsion from college and adverse future housing and employment repercussions. You will also get your driver’s license, learner’s permit, and junior driver license or driving privileges suspended and revoked for six months. Other penalties you can expect to face include a fine of $125 and a $100 fee for the termination of your license.
  • Multiple Offense DUI: Multiple DUI charges are very serious. If you are convicted of two DWIs or DUIDs within the past 10 years and you are convicted of a new DUI you will be charged with a Class D felony. You will also face penalties that will include a fine between $2,000 and $10,000, a license suspension for a minimum of 1 year, and up to 7 years in prison.
